In a remarkable effort to promote education and support academic development of its young members, the National Association of Ikorodu Division Students’ (NAIDS) has successfully facilitated over 70 Free JAMB Forms for those amongst them that intend to write the forthcoming JAMB/UTME.

The forms were facilitated from the Ikorodu Division Resources Development Group (IDRDG) and one of its arms, Ikorodu Town Hall Management Board (ITHMB).

The forms were distributed to intending candidates in Ikorodu Local Government, Imota, Igbogbo, Ikorodu West, Ikorodu North and Ijede Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). The initiative aimed at providing equal opportunities for aspiring students who are facing financial challenges.

NAIDS President, Comrade Olatayo Bodunrin Ogunbowale, speaking at the presentation and registration of the students at the Ikorodu Town Hall CBT, said that the gesture is coming at a time when many students are unable to pay for the examination.

“The distribution of these free forms comes at a critical time when many students face financial constraints in registering for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, a key requirement for gaining admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

“By covering the costs, this initiative seeks to reduce barriers to higher education and encourage academic excellence among the students of the Division.”

As he expressed gratitude to the sponsors – IDRDG and ITHMB, Bodunrin Ogunbowale highlighted how the intervention aligns with the mission of the Division’s national students body to foster educational development and social inclusion.

He said that some of the beneficiaries of the IDRDG/ITHMB gesture have lost hope in registering for JAMB this year, and added that they were filled with happiness with the gesture.

“Joy filled their hearts for being beneficiaries of the free forms. They shared their excitement and appreciation, emphasizing how this support has renewed their hope for a brighter future,” he noted.

While describing the partnership with IDRDG/ITHMB as strategic, the NAIDS National President, added that the body has been able to impact positively on its members going by the number of JAMB/UTME forms that it has been able to facilitate this year alone.

The NAIDS executive enthused, “The collaboration between NAIDS, IDRDG, and ITHMB serves as an inspiring example of how strategic partnerships can make a tangible impact on society. We are hopeful that other stakeholders and groups will emulate this similar initiative by the IDRDG and ITHMB to support and uplift Ikorodu Division students in their pursuit of academic success.

“Ikorodu Division has really made a lasting impact in the lives of its students, looking at the number of free JAMB forms doled out to students across the division as a whole and that’s an evidence of the vision and foresight of the leaders towards the promotion of higher education for their students across the division.”

NAIDS Director of Studies, Comrade Adisa Temilade charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity: “This is just the first step towards a brighter future. Success requires dedication, hard work, and perseverance. Make the most of this chance by preparing diligently for your JAMB examination, staying focused, and aiming for excellence and to make Ikorodu Division proud.”

Comrade Abdulsalam Tijani, President, Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISA) also said the initiative would serve as a reminder that education remains a powerful tool for personal and societal growth.

In appreciating the sponsors, he also charged the beneficiaries to stay committed to their studies, embrace discipline, and never lose sight of their goals. “With determination and effort, the doors of success will surely open.”
